My research on target tracking provided a study on identification of “stealthy” estimators. Suppose that a platform equipped with a passive sonar is trying to track a target with bearings-only measurements and it infers the estimated state vector and the CRLB. The information is sent to a third-party entity and it is intercepted by an eavesdropper which is target-cooperative. Is the eavesdropper capable of extracting location information of the (stealthy) platform? A first study is given in [J-6]–[C-16].
Additional research on target tracking is centered on efficient distributed implementations of the classical multi-hypothesis tracker (MHT) [C-13].
